Join us for BioBlitz 2008

On September 5 and 6, Reflection Riding will join the Chattanooga Nature Center, Tennessee Aquarium, and UTC, to host the second annual Chattanooga BioBlitz.  Last year this outstanding event brought together over 200 scientists, volunteers and program participants from around the region to explore and celebrate our region’s extraordinary biodiversity.  Over the course of 24 hours, almost 700 species of plants and animals residing at the nature center, Reflection Riding and in Lookout Creek were counted and identified.   This event, besides being a serious scientific endeavor, is also an educational outreach to our community.  The public is invited to observe scientists at work, participate in games and hikes, and learn about local conservation efforts.  The BioBlitz results will be made available to the public through the CNC website and through the media.  If you would like to find out more about participating in the event, please contact Kyle Waggener at 821-1160 x. 112 OR to register for educational programming, please call the Tennessee Aquarium at 267-FISH (3474).
